We want badass builders who give a damn.
People who lead by example, grow their teammates, and stay humble while solving real problems.
We’re a Los Angeles–based software, data science, and design studio, building tech that increases human agency. We’re 100+ people strong, entirely bootstrapped, and driven by mission over hype.
We build products across web, mobile, AI, blockchain, and even brain-computer interfaces (BCIs). From startups to the Fortune 100, we tackle critical work that clients and society care about. Internally, we incubate ventures through our Skunkworks program — some of which spin out into standalone companies led by AE team members.
You’ll work primarily within JavaScript and its ecosystem:
At AE, equity is earned and meaningful. We invest millions into Skunkworks and accept client equity to pass on to our team.
You’re granted equity at $0 for tax reasons — but the long-term upside is real. The longer you stay and the more value you create, the more you earn. You keep 100% of your equity if you spin out an AE-incubated venture. Leave on good terms and stay engaged? Keep 20%.
We think long-term. If you do too, you’ll thrive here.

If you’re ready to lead, build, and grow with a team of high-performers on a mission to shape the future — we’d love to talk.
We've been at the forefront of emerging technologies since 2015. Constantly pushing our clients and team to adapt and become experts in the space.
We're named one of the top developers in Los Angeles on Clutch.Co. According to our clients’ reviews, AE Studio produces satisfying deliverables with impressive speed.
We're focused on hiring the smartest people who have spent the time to academically perfect their craft. And then build a group of executors around them.
We don't just build products for capitalistic reasons. We build products that will be good for the world.
It's pretty simple-- people generally don't want tech products to wind up manipulating them into doing things they don't want to do.
We strive to increase agency not just through building awesome products -- we treat our clients and team in ways that respect their agency and also donate 5% of our profits to highly effective charities.
Building products with human agency in mind results in happier, more satisfied customers who stick around, spend more money and refer their friends.
Given the increasingly important role technology plays in our daily lives, and future technological advances like Brain Machine Interfaces, tech that is designed with agency in mind is crucial to our future.
