Product Designer & Manager

Location: Venice, CA (Abbot Kinney) / Remote (U.S. based)
Salary: $100k–$200k/year (flexible for the right candidate)
Company: AE Studio (Agency Enterprise)

Do you...

  • Love building world-class, cutting-edge software?
  • Believe humans should be their most focused, efficient, and intentional selves?
  • Believe technology should help people achieve that?

Then we’d love for you to help us increase human agency.

About Us

Agency Enterprise (AE Studio) is a software development, data science, and design studio based in Los Angeles. We’re 100+ strong, entirely bootstrapped, and proudly free of VC, PE, or outside shareholders. Our model is simple: great people build great things, we turn a profit, and reinvest in our team.

We build software to increase human agency — for clients, employees, and humanity at large. Our work spans startups, Fortune 500s, and everything in between. We’ve incubated agency-driven tech ventures, won international neuroscience competitions, and lead innovation in brain-computer interfaces (BCI).

About the Role

As a Product Designer & Manager, you'll lead cross-functional product development in an Agile environment. You’ll work directly with clients and internal tech leads to define, shape, and deliver best-in-class digital experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product discovery, UX mapping, roadmapping, and feature prioritization.
  • Co-lead client kickoff meetings and collaborate on product vision.
  • Manage product roadmaps and oversee Agile delivery cycles.
  • Facilitate sprints, estimations, daily standups, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Translate business needs into actionable product requirements.
  • Create sitemaps, user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups.
  • Run user feedback and testing sessions.
  • Maintain design–dev handoff processes and ensure clear communication.
  • Monitor timelines, budgets, and product releases.
  • Identify areas for growth and lead experimentation.

About You

  • 5+ years experience as a product designer or product manager.
  • You bridge UX/UI craft with strategic product thinking.
  • Experienced with Agile workflows and tools like Figma, Sketch, Linear, or Pivotal Tracker.
  • A strong communicator who gives and receives feedback gracefully.
  • Bonus if you have experience in HTML/CSS, startups, consulting, VR… or ice cream.

What We Offer

  • Remote flexibility
  • Platinum health insurance
  • Multi-company equity participation
  • Latest-gen hardware + continuous learning resources
  • Work with a team of ex-founders, scientists, engineers, and artists
  • Creative skunkworks projects with C-suite opportunities
  • Weekly team lunches, happy hours, and occasional VR/game nights
  • Annual tropical team retreat

Equity Philosophy

We invest millions into Skunkworks ventures and client equity, and pass that value to our team. Equity is priced at $0 at grant for tax purposes, but has real upside. The longer you stay, the more equity you earn. Stay long-term, and you're likely to do extremely well.

  • Leave AE on good terms? Retain 20% of your equity.
  • Leave to join a Skunkworks project? Keep 100%.

We value people who think long-term. Value creation compounds here in years 3 and 4 — not just years 1 and 2.

Our key values

We don't just build products for capitalistic reasons. We build products that will be good for the world.

Good for Users

It's pretty simple-- people generally don't want tech products to wind up manipulating them into doing things they don't want to do.

Good for Life

We strive to increase agency not just through building awesome products -- we treat our clients and team in ways that respect their agency and also donate 5% of our profits to highly effective charities.

Good for Business

Building products with human agency in mind results in happier, more satisfied customers who stick around, spend more money and refer their friends.

Good for The Future

Given the increasingly important role technology plays in our daily lives, and future technological advances like Brain Machine Interfaces, tech that is designed with agency in mind is crucial to our future.
